Client Feature: Pew Charitable Trusts / Restore America’s Parks

In 2016, more than10 million visitors enjoyed national parks in Florida. From the Gulf Islands to Dry Tortugas, Florida saw $653.6 million spent in gateway communities. That spending supported 9,972 jobs and added a cumulative benefit of $949.1 million to the state economy–money that helps businesses, schools and families.

Celebrating its 101st anniversary, the National Park Service now is struggling to maintain many of its facilities. Crumbling roads and bridges, along with outdated wastewater and electrical systems, the agency currently faces a deferred maintenance backlog that is estimated to be $11.3 billion–with $253 million here in Florida.

Now with Hurricane Irma’s devastating impact on Florida’s tourism industry, National Parks must be part of the rebuilding process. Thank you to Florida Congressmen Carlos Curbelo (R-26), Ted Deutsch (D-22) and Darren Soto (D-09) for your support. Learn more here.
