(Miami, FL) – The Florida Transportation Commission (FTC) will hold a meeting on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. The FTC will be receiving reports, presentations and status updates from Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Ananth Prasad, DOT District 5 Secretary Noranne Downs, and transportation leaders on projects including SunRail, the Wekiva Parkway, All Aboard Florida and others. Members of the media are invited to attend the morning session.
“We look forward to receiving an agency report from Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Ananth Prasad, status reports from District 5 Secretary Noranne Downs on SunRail and the Wekiva Parkway, and others on the incredible transportation projects we have on the horizon here in Florida,” said Ron Howse, Chairman of the Florida Transportation Commission. “These initiatives allow our great State to thrive economically by connecting residents, tourists, and business enterprise from around the corner and around the globe.”
The FTC meeting is being held prior to the official start of the 2013 Transportation Summit hosted by Floridians for Better Transportation (FBT) and in partnership with the Transportation and Expressway Authority Membership of Florida (TEAMFL) July 25-26, 2013.
