As Florida Congressional maps for 2012 are currently under review this week, and with some incumbents having not adjusted their originally-filed seat numbers for their upcoming campaigns, we had to make a decision for our 1st quarter 2012 federal campaign finance reports.

Rather than speculate, and rather than potentially add to the confusion, we are going to utilize the seat numbers that candidates have filed as of today with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

The amounts raised and spent are through March 31 and cumulatively for the cash on hand numbers as reported through the FEC website.  What will change after the June 4 – June 8 qualifying period in many of these races is the actual seat number the candidates are seeking. We know this is not optimum for our report, for the election matchups of candidate versus candidate in some seats are certainly not valid.

On 3 Public Relations will reissue this report after qualifying and the election matchups will be clear. For today, our report will show the district numbers for the particular seats the candidates have currently filed.
